NOLA-PS to Return to In-Person Board Meetings
Starting next week, the OPSB will resume hosting its monthly meetings in the NOLA-PS Board Room.
(New Orleans â€ Jul 21, 2021) â€ As Ì첩ÌåÓý gear up to return to in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year, the Orleans Parish School (OPSB) will lead the way by resuming their board meetings in-person starting Tuesday, July 27.
"The board is excited to meet in-person for the first time," said OPSB Board President Ethan Ashley. "Since the installment of our new Board in January, we have not experienced meetings in-person and I am certain that for all of us, new board members and old, meeting in-person will be a good experience, especially as we welcome the start of the new school year."
COVID-19 restrictions will be in place for the OPSB meetings. There will be a total of 36 seats set 3-feet apart in the boardroom, and masks will be required. Overflow space will be provided in our Central Office atrium.
OPSB's usual board meeting norms will return. Those wishing to make a comment must fill out a public comment card. Those providing comments can remove their masks while speaking.
The OPSB committee and board business meetings will no longer be offered via zoom, and public comments will no longer be accepted via a live stream platform.
If you're unable to attend in-person, you will be able to watch the meetings via OPSB-TV or COX Channel 8 in New Orleans.
OPSB's next committee meeting will be Tuesday, July 27 at 1pm, and its next business board meeting will be Thursday, July 29 at 5:30pm.
All OPSB meetings take place in the NOLA-PS Central Office Board Room at 2401 Westbend Parkway, New Orleans, LA 70114, unless otherwise noted.
