Orleans Parish School Board Announces Search for New Superintendent

(New Orleans January 25, 2025) The Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) is pleased to announce the launch of a comprehensive search for its next superintendent. This initiative seeks to identify a visionary leader with integrity, a passion for education, and a steadfast commitment to excellence for all students in New Orleans.

The search process will prioritize transparency and community involvement, unfolding in a series of phases designed to maximize participation and input from stakeholders across the city. OPSB believes the new superintendent should embody the collective aspirations of the New Orleans community, and feedback from residents will play a vital role in shaping the selection process.

Community Engagement Opportunities
To ensure the voices of students, parents, educators, and community members are heard, OPSB invites everyone to share their perspectives through a brief online survey. The survey allows participants to outline the qualities and experiences they believe are essential in the next superintendent. Access the survey here: (link).

Additionally, OPSB will host a public hearing to gather input directly from the community. The hearing will take place on:

  • Date: Wednesday, January 29, 2025
  • Time: 5:30 PM
  • Location: McDonogh 35 High School, 4000 Cadillac Street, New Orleans, LA 70122

This meeting will offer an invaluable opportunity for residents to express their vision for the future of public education leadership in New Orleans.
